Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Let's Review: Part 2

The celebrating wasn't over yet. Oh no! We then celebrated Christmas with the Grunzes.

We crashed at Nonna and Papa's.

Auntie Laura and Malcolm play a game of "peek" over and under the table.

And we ate and ate and ate. Malcolm helped in the kitchen.










And we played games and puzzles and video games. And got dressed up. Mom and Laura sewed Malcolm a little vest (that took lots of work) and looked great.







And shoveled and traveled to families North and South (within Wisconsin).

And had a wonderful time together.


Then we rang in the New Year!

Now things are getting back to normal. And by normal, we mean still crazy.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Let's review. part 1

A little catch up ... here are some of the family get togethers that we've been doing this past month (cue wavy lines and fade out...)


First we celebrated Christmas with the Schlomers.

We rented a house on a lake. (Uncle Paul gets in on the dance recital.)

And ate and ate and ate. Yum!

And sang and sang and sang.

And sled and sled and BANG!

And had a wonderful time together.

(The "bang" is me hitting a snowbank with my face while sledding. The pictures aren't pretty, so I think I'll pass on showing them. Fortunately, no other serious injuries for the remainder of the holidays.)




Malcolm also got his first taste of Potatis Korv (Swedish Potato Sausage) and Swedish rice with yummy raspberry sauce. This was his reaction to the first bite of rice.


He liked it after that.





And Malcolm also got his first touch (and taste, of course) of play-doh.

It was a good first Christmas.

Busted!

Nonna and Papa were over for an afternoon with Malcolm. They were left alone with him while we were at volleyball practice.


When I returned, I caught them in the midst of a Christmas photo shoot with Malcolm. Busted! They changed his outfit, brought a sled for a prop, and used a big blanket for a back drop.

Hee Hee Hee.

And the photos turned out quite nice. Malcolm was a good sport too. Here's a little sample.

Ho Ho Ho!

Malcolm's first snow.

Well, it's not technically Malcolm's first snow fall. In fact, he was born while eight inches of snow fell last February. But this is the first snow that he got to experience.




And he seems a bit confused by it all.

Who said let it snow?

Because we got a whole dump of snow (18 inches and then some more). I stayed up late to get some pics and see the lightning and snow thunder show.











And then the next day, Malcolm got a look at the snow...from the window.

Not always smiles

Just so we don't give the wrong impression, there are times when Malcolm isn't smiling.




Like after he clunks his head (don't worry, Nonna was there for comfort.)






Or when he doesn't like the taste of something or needs a change in venue









And generally when he's done (like done getting his picture taken)

Colds and fevers and rashes. Oh my!

We haven't been good at posting lately due to some minor colds, a bit of a fever, and now a rash. All for Malcolm. Not to mention digging out of the snow in our free time. Will have pictures soon without the runny nose.

Not so sure

Not sure what to make of this game of chase. The vacuum isn't as fun to run from.
