4 months: What's the big deal?
Malcolm's four months old and loving summer time! Even on these hot days he's pretty chill. (And that seems like such a silly parent thing to say.)During this past month, Malcolm has learned that his hands (and sometimes toes) can grab. So with his new skill in grabbing, he loves putting whatever he grabs in his mouth. Everything goes there - blankets, clothes, his hands, our hands, toys.

When he lies on his back he lifts his head and kicks his feet. It seems like a great workout and prep for when he starts moving about the place. His head control is better so that he can sit up with assistance and he loves to look around with this new perspective to see his world.
He hums along to daddy's singing. And sometimes hums on his own. When he's tired and falling asleep, every exhale is a hum. It's very cute.
And if you're fortunate enough, he'll fall asleep humming to himself, in your arms.
And that's the deal.

Staycation part two: Auntie Laura visits

Malcolm's fun continued after the weekend in Minneapolis with a visit from Auntie Laura!
Every morning the two of them would greet each other with smiles. The excitement was mutual.
So perfect weather means afternoons on the terrace!

Malcolm only frowns because of the sun in his eyes, otherwise he loves the outdoors. Though, he did have a meltdown at the terrace one day.
That same day an elderly man told Laura as she was walking around with Malcolm that Malcolm is "the future." And Laura replied that "the future is bright." Nice.
We also took in cafes and yummy foods. Here Malcolm participates in a stimulating conversation over morning coffee.

The week flew. Laura and Malcolm played everyday. Laura won in chess and Malcolm won in drool quantity and "so big" contests.

Before the week was over Nonna and Papa came to visit. We still need to finish our cribbage throwdown. So, it's too be continued...
See you soon Auntie Laura (and Uncle Mike!)Saturday, June 13, 2009
Getting around
And his grandma.
We took in a few sites of Minneapolis, like the Art Museum.
And Malcolm even got to stay up past his bed time, which he loved.
Thanks to Auntie Sarah for hosting us all for the weekend!

Get up! Get up! Get outta here! GONE!
And now batting for the Milwaukee Brewers...

Or maybe still a little afraid of the ball, he opts to chew on his blanket:
And, yes, this picture says, "I'm done playing dress-up."

Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma Schlomer for the little batter hat that once served nachos at Miller Park.
Malcolm Schlomer...schlomer...schlomer....
