Wireless took a nap

So, sorry for the delay in posting. Our wireless had taken a nap (aka wasn't working). And that probably meant we were supposed to nap too. But instead, we've been taking pictures of Malcolm napping...so here's a few pics to get you caught up in the past week.

Grandparents

Both sets of Grandparents came to visit Malcolm this week. We didn't think they would let him go. Eventually they did, but vowed to be back (often).

First Doctor's Appointment

Malcolm had his first doctor's appointment today. Just a check-up to see how he's gaining weight (very well) and the other vitals (all checked out just fine). He also showed off his other skills which right now are limited to pooing and peeing and eating. He put on a fine show - three diapers in one hour.

Eat, Sleep, Poop

Malcolm pretty much spends his day in a 3-hour continuous cycle of eating, sleeping, and pooing. But here are some other things he does with his day:

Snuggle with Daddy.

Get his nails filed.

Cry.

Dream.

Welcome Home!

On Monday night, we left the hospital to make our way home. The snow storm that hit Madison the night of Malcolm's birth had finally been cleared. All the doctor things were in order and they let us take Malcolm home with us. Paul drove with an increased "spidey sense" as he says, and he carefully avoided all the pot holes in the road. Malcolm was pretty mellow in his car seat and stared out the back window at the street lights all the way home. Here he is all snuggled in his car seat before we showed him his new home.

I'm Malcolm and I'll be your tour guide

At the hospital, they do tours of the birth center every Sunday afternoon. We took our tour in January and it just made everything seem all the more real. As part of the tour, at the end of it, new parents tell the group a little about their experience and let people have a look at their new bundle.

Since we were at the hospital on a Sunday, we were approached by the tour guide to see if we would be willing to tell our birth story and show our newborn to the tour groups. I wasn't up for it, but proud Papa Paul and Malcolm stepped up and wowed the crowds that day. My Mom was around to take pictures and said that when the tour first saw Malcolm, they audibly "awed." The "awe" seems to be contagious.

Malcolm Minute

Here is the first installment of "The Malcolm Minute" (especially for my mom who has not been able to see him yet).

There is not a whole lot of drama, but we are submitting this for the best Live Action Short at the Oscars tonight. There is a smile.....wait for it.

Just Can't Get Enough

I know that you all want to see more baby pics. I know that I can't stop staring at the little guy.

By the way, I have now changed 7 diapers...one fairly explosive. The worst part about it is that he is a wiggler. Erin is up and walking around, and she loved taking her first shower post-surgery. Now she is starting to feel back to normal....at least a new state of normal.

I am sure we will keep posting more pics over the next week.
