Good-bye 2008

So 2008 is on it's way. And 2009 will be like no other year we've had together. Before Kodos, we were two -- for 10-years married plus 5-years courting (of sorts).

That's 15-years of Paul and Erin. And now, well, here we go...

We've prepped the house. Read lots of books and blogs and internet sites about pregnancy and babies. Attended our birthing classes. Had our discussions over diapers, parenting styles, and healthy eating habits. Still, ask us if we're ready...

But much love and support surrounds us each day. Sure, people
are laughing along with us and at us, but also pulling for us. This past Saturday, Laura and Mike and our families threw us a baby shower. It was nice to see people so very excited for us. They indeed "showered" us with generous gifts and "how-to's" to get us on our way.

We are very thankful for those who came to
show their support for us on Saturday, and to those who could not be with us, we appreciate the love you sent to us in your absence. This kiddo's got love from so many places and we can't wait to share with baby all of you who have touched our lives.

Paul learns to rap, er, wrap...

Cousin Oscar volunteered himself to help Uncle Paul figure out how to use the Sleepywrap for baby carrying (with Sister Sarah's wrapping expertise).

Despite Oscar's full cooperation and trust, Paul doesn't think the wrap is for him.

2 months and counting

Only two months now before the due date of Kodos. Paul says it goes by fast. I will agree on most days, like today, but during the basement construction, not so fast. Both of us wonder what Kodos thinks. All we know is that Kodos is very active these days as s/he fills the small space probably working out some great dance moves much like Paul's. I anticipate I'll be witness to more spontaneous dancing and singing around the house by these two individuals as they work out synchronized routines.
